The requirements for components in sports boats and other vessels are specific: for an engine, outboard motor, or rudder system in a sports boat, the constantly wet environment means stringent requirements for resistance to weathering and corrosion. Resistant to seawater and robust when exposed to wind and storms: these are the requirements igus products have to fulfil in vessel construction. Being lightweight and functional is also important, especially in applications such as the interior of sports boats. Sports boats and vessels with igus products are well-prepared for the requirements on and under the water. A prototype for a sports boat or boats in high-volume production, single components or ready-to-install systems such as linear modules with motors – all igus products offer you motion plastics advantages for the specific requirements in water, including in the area of vessels.
This year, we are launching 168 innovations. Our International Product Manager Michael Hornung will present our top innovations for boat construction in just two minutes. These include, e.g. the drylin W exchange bearing:
Stop motion slewing ring bearings with defined locking points
Quiet telescopic rail with prism preload
Ready-to-install energy supply unit for shore power supply

How does the dinghy get on to the yacht or the jet ski into the water? This plant manufacturer knows the answer. The company designs lift systems for yachts - and relies on energy chains, drylin profile guides and iglidur plain bearings.
These cranes are used to hoist boats out of the water in Fort Meyers, Florida. In both, iglidur P is used directly in the cable winch drive shaft, which performs a lifting and lowering movement to lift the boats completely out of the water.
To save moorings in ports, the width of these water catamarans can be reduced to 4.85 metres. Any torsional loads are compensated for with a combination of E04 e-chains and drylin linear guides.
Hybrid drylin roller and plain bearings mounted on double drylin guides made of hard anodised aluminium allow this motor boat to change its steering gear position quickly and easily. The bearings are easy to install and also maintenance-free.
Trying things out made easy: with the igus corner, you always have the most recent motion plastics suited to your individual industry sector to hand.
We will bring the display to you, assemble it upon request, and fill the compartments with the products of your choice. Or you can set it up yourself. As a permanent exhibition or for a limited period of time.
