If you use 3D printers from Asiga or Genera, the material profile for processing iglidur® i4000 is stored directly in the respective material databases. You can find the material profile for processing on Formlabs Form 4 3D printers in the 'Downloads' tab on this page.
DLP 3D printing resin for gears: iglidur® i4000
The triboresin iglidur i4000 has been specially developed for gear applications. The material is suitable for components with high precision (tooth module up to m = 0.2) and is therefore ideal for a wide range of gear applications at room temperature. Special attention was paid to the mechanical characteristics relevant for gears during development, and the material was designed accordingly.
As a result, iglidur i4000 offers a service life in gear applications that is at least 3.5 times longer than that of conventional 3D printing resins. The mechanical specifications are largely isotropic due to the photopolymerisation process.
Processing instructions: since the skin contact with the liquid resin must be avoided, personal protective equipment is absolutely required during processing. For better processing, the bottle with the resin should be shaken well before use.
By the way: In our in-house 3D printing service, igus processes its own iglidur i4000 resin in the classic DLP process with a high resolution that allows precision components to be manufactured. The UV wavelength of 385nm can also reduce excessive curing and ensure a more precise shape.
