Motor lead screws of the dryspin lead screw technologyLead screws are machine elements that are used to convert a rotational movement into a linear motion. The trapezoidal lead screws and lead screw nuts from igus are based on the principle of lubrication-free linear technology. The properties and geometries of the dryspin lead screw technology, which are adapted to the plastic nut and trapezoidal lead screw, guarantee a longer service life and efficiency. In the standard range for motor lead screws, you get ready-to-connect thread dimensions from TR08x1.5 to TR12x6P3.

The trapezoidal thread corresponds in cross section to an isosceles trapezoid with an angle of 15°. Theflank angle is 30°. The trapezoidal lead screw has a larger diameter and greater pitch than standard threads do. The pitch angle is smaller than the arctangent for single start trapezoidal lead screws. Thus, self-locking is given. Two-start lead screws, on the other hand, are only restrained.
